About James Caverhill

James Caverhill Conservation specialises in the conservation and restoration of works of art on paper including watercolours, prints, drawings, maps, wallpaper, photographs and ephemera. 

We provide a comprehensive, museum standard conservation and restoration service including damage repair, cleaning, preventive treatment and disaster response. We also undertake condition surveys and provide consultancy on storage and exhibition of art works.    

The company was established in 2000 by Dr James Caverhill and clients include a wide range of museums and galleries, The National Trust, English Heritage, fine art dealers and private individuals.

James Caverhill Conservation operates from fully equipped, modern studios. We are also able to work on-site.

Dr James Caverhill is a professional conservator with over 30 years’ experience. He is an approved conservator for both English Heritage and the National Trust, an Accredited Conservator Restorer (ACR) and also works as an assessor for the Institute of Conservation.

PhD Conservation Science, University of Northumbria
Accredited Conservator Restorer (ACR), Institute of Conservation 
Professional Association of Conservator Restorer (PACR) Assessor
